***Victorian Dog Rescue and Resource Group exists to rehome animals that are
about to be euthanased in Victorian pounds. In addition VicDRG publishes a newsletter on
generic dog rescue in Victoria and will provide email advice for people on the
various pounds and shelters that exist in Victoria and resources available for

***MAR rescue and re-home dogs and cats who are no longer wanted, or are in
death row at Victorian pounds. We are building a foster network to assist, as we
run this from our homes. Adoption fees cover standard vet work. Any non-standard
vet work required (ie. anything other than de-sexing, vaccinations, worming and
micro-chipping) is done and we cover these costs personally. Foster carers are
not required to pay for any veterinary costs (inc worming/flea treatment).
Courtney Pearman started this group in 2008, as a private rescue group. After
meeting Melanie Dow in 2010, they formed a shared goal to reduce animals being
put to sleep in pounds in Victoria, and this group was formed. We are currently
undertaking the necessary steps to become a registered Not For Profit
organisation and we appreciate the support we are receiving. ***

The Canine Blood Bank supplies blood and plasma products to its hospital & to
veterinarians throughout Australia. It requires donors for its outpatient blood
donor program. They have support from over 200 donors for this important
community service, which is one of the few such programs in the world, however
they need more donors and funding support.
